After a couple of years without updates, i’ve at least managed to update the publication list, which I tihnk is now completely up-to-date. I’ve also linked papers to projects a bit more thoroughly.

After almost 12 years at the Sanger Institute, I’ve now moved to the Institute of Biodiversity, Animal Health and Comparative Medicine at the University of Glasgow. I’ll also be part of the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Parasitology.

I’m particularly excited about two new papers - describing both the immunology and genome data from parasites in a cohort of VL and VL-HIV patients from Northern Ethiopia. These come out of the PhD work of Yegnasew Takele, a wonderful Ethiopian PhD student at Imperial.

I’ve been trying to write a k-mer sketching based pipeline to do fast QC of the population structure of read data. The idea is this will be a nextflow pipeline that I could run on large collections of reads and check that the data roughly make sense in terms of e.

Some content has finally arrived - I think is now a comprehensive list of all of my publications ever - 20 years and 106 items, all with PDFs. Its been quite nice putting it togehter, remembering projects and people i’ve worked with over the years.

Welcome to my new website I’ve finally got round to putting together a new website, which I hope will be a single place I can put data, papers and link to other new things.
